Thanks to @fluffypotatey for the tag!! I've honestly not been writing much at all (uni as always) so looked through what I already had and then rewrote this original scene of honestly one of my favourite ideas that I have on my (too long) list of ideas
The dawn of Kevin Day's birthday breakes, pushing through the dining room windows and piercing deep into the dining room's interior to illuminate the letters of his mother's will, as well as the ticket for his flight from New York to Dublin. His eyes widen, lid pushing against the bruised swelling of his left brow until it almost hurts. Air catches in his throat, and he swallows it back down before it can properly get out, then rapidly releases it once again as soon as possible to prevent his chest from heaving too obviously under the burgeoning panic attack creeping in. It is difficult, to keep his cool when the killer of his brother sits opposite him, offering him a way out and back to a world of easier times as a way to repay him for the damage caused by said brother, but Kevin has had plenty of practice in much worse states so he would manage. Hopefully. The sight of his mother's truths might actually break him. "What do you say?" Ichirou Moriyama asks in Japanese. It takes Kevin a while to hear the words and another few moments to figure out which language it is that was used before he is able to respond appropriately in the same language. "I would be honoured."
