When I was in the wire workshop thinking of ideas, I knew that I wanted to do something duck related. When I googled ‘Wire Ducks’ this little ducky by Ruth Jensen popped up and then became an inspirational piece for my own wire duck.
I noticed how the double wire worked well with the single wire for the structural body of the duck, I then incorporated this into my own duck. One thing that I knew I would be changing was the flappers because I knew I wanted to put a spring at the bottom of my creation. I also strayed away from the realistic duck design and went toward a rubber duck body.
