Growing up is a continual pull to retrieve one's head from their own anus, but noone is ever fully done getting their head out of their ass; so there's that.

The way I see it... : Relationships.

The way I see it. Relationships are like a Hearthfire. one that should always be burning. It takes just the right fuel, placement, time and the initial spark to still be represented, while built upon over time.

Feed it too fast and it will overgrow and burn all of it's fuel within a short amount of time, leaving behind a harsh, bitter cold where wonderful warmth once was held.

A fire that is properly nurtured and cared for can last more than a lifetime. Though the heat initially fades a little. It still keeps all those who care for it warm.

And a fire that is left alone for too long soon extinguishes, leaving both sides cold, broken and brittle ....and then there's the rare case where the person who has the flint, went off with another person who had steel and they started another fire and the flint person keeps coming back and forth.

....they should have their flint taken from them....
