Do you celebrate Christmas?
“Hmm...it depends.”
“Back at the monastery, we did not celebrate Christmas. It is more of a Christian holiday, after all. Some in Nepali celebrate it, but we celebrated different holidays native to the country.”
“It is only until I met Genji that I started to celebrate Christmas. Not elaborate, but I would get Genji a gift each year, as well as my brother, to show that I appreciated them. Genji, over time, told me stories of how he used to celebrate Christmas back in Japan, and surely, I have looked up it’s meaning and the many different ways it is celebrated. For me, Christmas is more about the time that I can spend together with the people that I cherish, but I suppose, nowadays, that counts for everyone.”
