I don’t think I realised for a couple of pages, but this book is effectively one long panel, as the titular Monster Truck roams this strange landscape in one strange trip.

I would genuinely love to see this laid out in sequence, a Bayeux Tapestry of the bizarre, and just follow it to see each new strangely familiar pop culture artefact appear, like a kid’s game where insects and Transformers and bubblegum cards are all legitimate components in a scene. There’s got to be a gallery somewhere that would do this, or has done it already, perhaps?

Many of the familiar Shaky Kane elements are here, so it feels like a pure distillation of his work, ultimately becoming a perpetual loop in which you could just lose yourself. Just climb onboard that Monster Truck and drive....
