Someday I want to make an org that helps those with transids get whatever kinds of affirming gear they need for them. it would probably start off small maybe just a few things like ears / tails for some more common transspecies animals and some gender affirming things.
But then once it starts getting a little bigger and when I'm at the point in my life where I have the funds I can start doing more things like a bigger variety in species gear, some stuff for those who are transage (though I would probably need recommendations for that one ^^') , and maybe even mobility aids for Transabled people.
I know that still would leave a lot of people out but it's just a rough idea of something that might happen in the future if it's possible, a dream I guess? I truly hope, even if it isn't me that something like this could happen for our community. I know how much of a pain dysphoria can be to live with so I hope one day people will be able to get the things they need to affirm who they really are on the inside 🫂.
I think we all glossed over some of the best (for the 2010s) representation when it comes to LGBTQ+, Transpecies (LITERAL CANON TRANSSPECIES CHARACTERS BTW) , Plurality, etc. for animation when it comes to ok ko lets be heros.
Was it perfect? No not in the slightest but you can tell they tried their best with the handling of these themes with the care they deserved. Allowing things to have heartfelt moments, where an 'othering' identity isn't seen as the joke but is explained.
I think they do an especially good job at this in the season 1 episode 29 " We've Got Fleas " but I would like to bring special attention to a character named Mikayla. I know what you might be saying if you watched the show "but Wisteria! That episode was generally a nod about the furry fandom!" And sure it probably was but two things can be true at the same time.
I can personally relate to Mikayla in my own ways when it comes to being transspecies. Wanting and wishing to be something else than what you were 'created' as, in her case is wanting to be human despite being made as an animalistic robot. She truly identifies as a human and found community in others like her, who wish to be their authentic selves even if they have to 'put on costumes' to be able to achieve that.
I highly recommend this episode for those want a better understanding than my word soup gushing over the rep. And if you can watch the entire show I highly recommend it too! Genuinely one of my all time favorite comfort shows, I like that I have the ability to see a show that covers so many aspects of my identity, especially more obscure parts like being Tspecies & Plurality when it comes to ko (but just a fair warning it can/does use a bit of outdated language like 'alter ego' when it comes to the Plural experience so please keep that in mind!). While the rep might not be perfect I'm glad that they tried and still produced an amazing show <3
