I wanted to say thank you for your blog, your quotes, your own writing. It is so beautiful and it has helped comfort me in times where I have felt lonely or struggled to find hope. I was reading a little of Virginia Wolf's - On being ill, and I think it is true illness is such a fundamental part of the human experience but we don't even have the language or stories to share that burden. Thank you for creating when you could and being here with us.

One of my favourite stories is the little prince and when the prince leaves his friend he says not to be sad, because the man may look up at the stars which are cold and distant to anyone else, and hear the prince's laughter ringing like bells, and so for the man the stars will always hold music. and maybe for us aswell.

I didn't know you did Lino Cutting, thats so cool!

Could you tell me a l ittle more about the process, what parts you do/don't like?

Yeah! i started doing in collage!

In truth, I've been so long since I've made a lino plate that I don't really remember what I dislike lol. I'm sure designing the image is tough, but when is it isn't?

the basic process is that you carve a sheet of linoleum to make you image. You have to make sure to only carve the places you don't want ink to go. THen you evenly add ink to the plate and lay a sheet of paper on it. You then put it though a press to transfer the ink to the page. But since I don't have a press at my home I will be using the tried and true method that we all know and love- Rubbing the hell out of it with a spoon! It takes a lot longer but my ink dries pretty slow so I can take my time to make sure that I get a good print

Honestly though its so nice to see your Tolkein related posts, I have read The Hobbit and The Fellowship of The Ring, but I stopped in the middle of The Two Towers (my library loan was due and I couldn't justify renewing it because I had exams at the time) a couple of years back. But I was alway struck by the beauty of the world and through your posts it feels like I still have a link to it. I definitely want to finish the lord of the rings triology at least but who knows what the future holds for us.
