Can we have more headcanons/scenarios for the Witches Apprentice AU?
Oh-ho-ho... I have an idea...
Sans and Papyrus are dutiful little apprentices, well... not so little since they are quite large, but you get the point.
Every week, Frisk and Chara give them a day off from work and leave them to their frolicking, or whatever it is the brothers want to do. However, on this particular day, Sans and Papyrus were not content with themselves and their progresses.
These two wanted to impress and astound their respective lady witches, so while the two girls were out shopping for the day, Sans and Papyrus decided to try and complete the spells the sisters were working on.
This would involve them breaking a few rules, but they believed Frisk and Chara would be so amazed with them and their mastery of magic that it would matter little in the end.
All was well within the first hour. It actually seemed as though the boys knew what they were doing! But then disaster struck. Papyrus, he has trouble reading words sometimes, and mistook one ingredient for being something else that was similarly spelled.
Frisk and Chara came home to find smoke coming from the windows and their workshop on fire - and then they heard the terrified screams of Sans and Papyrus inside.
They quickly put out the fire with their magic and then burst inside. After seeing that the two were thankfully unharmed, the girls immediately demanded an explanation.
Shamefaced, Sans and Papyrus told them they were messing with their spellbooks and potion cabinets - something the sisters had explicitly told them NOT to do unsupervised.
Frisk and Chara are relieved they weren't hurt, but they're also angry, disappointed, and it's a long while until they feel they can trust Sans and Papyrus to be left on their own again.
And it's from this incident that the boys learn and take to heart the value of a promise.
