Commission time again! Once more the super talented @linnpuzzle has agreed to take on one of my characters and done a fantastic job bringing him to life 💙❤️ This is The Prince (who has a name, but for safety reasons he doesn't share it freely), the love interest of Ulrec from this previous post. They show up in book two of a series that starts with Mages and Marriage. The Prince has been nominated by his friends and allies to lead their post-revolution attempt at a peaceful transition from monarchy to democracy. He's doing his best to keep things together, but the court is less than trusting of those with fae ancestry, so...

Yeah, misunderstandings and tension abound!

I've been letting this project rest for a while, but I'm feeling renewed inspiration to work on it, to experiment with new outline methods for the second draft 😊💖

Current summary for this story: Merek, to most known only as the Chasm for his unnatural ability to cancel out all magic around him at will, has a problem. This problem is a person. This person is Thorzec Esk, one of the ruling High Mages. In their youth Esk and Merek were lovers, but after Esk showed his true colors and took his current position in society by bloody force, they had a falling out. Now, Esk all of a sudden seems determined to reconnect - and to find a spouse for Merek.

Didn't want to jinx the writing of 'Mages and Marriage' while I was doing its first draft for NaNoWriMo back in *checks notes* 2020...so I waited with posting this lovely art of its main characters Merek (left) and Thorzec Esk (right, Esk is his given name). Their story is all about magic, secret revolution and the two of them being former-lovers-to-enemies-to-fake-marriage-to-lovers 😁

I recently commissioned the very talented Linnpuzzle to paint the court portraits of one Duke Ulrec Artero (left) and his younger half-brother Matabec Artero (right).

Ulrec is the main character of my latest insistent plot bunny, a story of surviving at court after a recent coup has overthrown the previous king's rule. With magic now freely used by all who can and the game of court rapidly changing, Ulrec struggles to keep himself and his brother alive and out of the prison where their father and most other nobles from the previous regime are locked up - but is his caution truly warranted?

The story itself is currently in its unnamed infancy, but it part of my Witches and Fae 'universe' and thus gets that tag :)

Commissioned the talented @lornaka (go check out their art!) to draw two characters of mine: Daun (left) and Alel (right). They’re from a small collection of short stories that I’m calling Witches and Fae.

Basically, Alel is a foreign magician visiting a university where Daun…works. Anything more than that will be big spoilers. Let’s just say that bracelet Daun has around his left-hand wrist, peaking out of his pocket, is important.

Daun and Alel aren’t the first main characters to show up, but they are the two I’d visualized the most (I am not a very visual person) so they ended up being commissioned before any other characters :)
