"I wonder what occasion has roused such a crowd?"
After all this thinking though, I now no longer consider it possibility the ceremony happens after Christmas. //there goes my heart//
welp
Z and Felicity are kindly going to do the honors of breaking our hearts three weeks early
So.

It could be a possibility since the nobility would want to celebrate the new Glen's first Christmas. Also, if Oswald ordered him, Gilbert would have no choice. It is possible especially since if it was between Christmas and New Year's, the preparations for the ceremony wouldn't be as complete what with all the decorations and stuff.
Gilbert would most likely still try to go against him. Even if it's futile, he'll always end up trying to protect his brother until his last breath~
That final paragraph in your tread with Oswald made me think of the possibility that Vincent would die a week before Christmas and Jack delivers the music box on Christmas day all pretty and wrapped up while GlenGil is sulking over the cheery festivities. *sobs*
If Gilbert would even let Vincent die before Christmas. If Glen ever suggested such a thing Gil would probably get pissy with him real fast-- ;;
