“I don’t dress up anymore. That’s for kids.” ( witchrisen )

SALEM IS ALREADY ALIGHT WITH HALLOWEEN SPIRIT despite it being so far off still. the conversation they’re having is sparked in the cafeteria, upon seeing a sweaty frakenstein amble past, his arm around a distinctly less festive girl. poppy doesn’t seem to notice, or care, and before isabella had even had time to think about it, her hand was across the table, fingertips pressed to poppy’s forearm in a vie for attention. & then she’s speaking an inquiry of ‘what are you going to be’, countered after some time with a simple denial of one of the core values of the upcoming holiday. sure, it’s not what halloween is meant for but— ‘ i get it. ’ she agrees hardly a beat after the other has finished speaking, but then continues to say, ‘ don’t you think it would be fun though? one more time before college , you know; one more night of being a kid before we’re really adults? ’ she is urging, but her tone stays soft in it’s questioning. poppy doesn’t hold the same electricity that others in salem have this past month, & it’s hardly gone unnoticed; this is isabella’s second and she swears last attempt to imbue her with even a spark of it.
