Whatever you do, keep avoiding books in the Twilight-esque categories because chances are pretty good that the book itself will be total shit and the minor characters that the author wastes will consume you. Books in this category should be right up my alley but I am super-picky too and it never ends well for me. ;A;
Like, in all honesty, I am the worst person to take to a book shop. And I dont mean that in the way that I look through all the books and want to buy everything. I mean that in the way that I look at the blurbs of books that initially seem interesting, more often then not look at the plot, setup, characters, etc ("but all this changes when he/she meets mysterious girl/boy" DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY FUCKIN TIMES THAT OR SOMETHING EXTREMELY SIMILAR TO THAT COMES UP I SWEAR TO UGH *kicks wall*) - groan, roll my eyes, usually pull faces and play out a little dramatic ~love~ scene in my head complete with facial expressions and arm gestures, make really loud comments usually consisting of "BORING", "CLICHE", "GEEZ DID YOU SERIOUSLY RUN OUT OF IDEAS THAT HARD?" or similar, put the book back and move onto the next book to repeat the process
