There are usually three Full Moons between an equinox and a solstice (or vice versa). One per month. Sometimes, though, four Full Moons fall in a single season. When that happens, the third of a season’s four Full Moons is called a Blue Moon. By that definition, the next Blue Moon will occur on 18 May, 2019. That was the original definition of a Blue Moon, but another has since been ascribed to it: a Blue Moon can also be the second Full Moon in a calendar month with two Full Moons; this happens far more often. It is in fact going to the happen twice this year. Tonight's the 1st Blue Moon of 2018 & we'll get another one March 31st. Tonight's Blue Moon is quite special though as it also happens to be a Supermoon + a Blood Moon (Lunar Eclipse). According to NASA we haven't experienced this powerful Lunar Combo of Events in 150 years (!!!!) If you're sensitive, I'm sure you've been already feeling the build up for days, can't pass on this one, it won't let us lol & if you've got Leo in your chart you've probably been feeling everything extra for every placement. Happy New Moon in Aquarius + Solar Eclipse, witchy babes! In the midst of Eclipse Seasonright now, which is a magical time of the year indeed. February this year has no Full Moons, so this is THE ONE – yet pretty major- lunar event of the month. This New Moon in Aquarius, amplified by the Solar Eclipse – which was only visible to some countries in South America & Antarctica but still affects us all around the globe equally – is here to bring some subtle, yet revolutionary “aha moments”to our lives. Solar Eclipses are essentially super potent New Moons that generally happen every 6 months. Most years have 4 eclipses & 2 of these are always solar eclipses. While rare, the maximum number of eclipses that can take place in a calendar year is 7 & this year we’ll have a total of 5 (2 Lunar Eclipses & 3 partial Solar Eclipses). So all in all, there are 2 or 3 eclipses during every eclipse season. This particular Solar Eclipse, last of the current season, because it’s happening along with a New Moon in Aquarius will bring a time of powerful realizations & shifts in awareness, more specifically... Happy Super Blue Blood Full Moon in Leo, witchy babes! According to NASA, we haven’t had such a Lunar combo of Events in 150 years, so we could say this one is quite a doozy. Second Full Moon of the year & also of the month. It’s the reason it’s being dubbed a Blue Moon. Which technically, it is. According to the newer definition that is because in olden times, a Blue Moon was the 4th Full Moon in a Season, rather than the 2nd Full Moon in a month. As such, the ancient kind of Blue Moons are even more rare than the newly defined ones. We won’t be having any until 2019. Now, according to the new definition of Blue Moons, not only are we getting one tonight in January, but we’re getting another one in March. Which incidentally means we’ll be having NO Full Moons in February. What a trip. And a half. Either way, even though astrologically many don’t believe Blue Moons to have much of a significance, beyond the fact that they amplify the vibes of the sign it happens in – us witchy folk from different traditions around the world have found Blue Moons to be {.......................} The combination of Lunar Events happening tonight with this Super Blue Blood Full Moon in Leo are calling us to fully take in our lessons & move on forward with our life. Happy Super Full Moon in Taurus, witchy babes! This one is a strong one so if you’re sensitive and/or have Taurus in your chart you’ve probably been feeling the influence of this Super Full Moon in Taurus for days already. It’s an intense, no-nonsense, in your face kind of energy, as Taurus is. But there’s also the very grounding, nurturing + productive element to it that comes with Taurean Full Moons. Even more so if, like in this case, it also happens to be a Supermoon. A Supermoon is any time the Moon is closest to the Earth in its orbit & because of its angle in relationship to the Sun, looks much bigger than normal from Earth. During Supermoons you can also expect the effects of the specific Moon to be amplified. This is the first Super Full Moon of three consecutive ones we’re gonna have between now & January 2018. It’s like a big wrap up to the year & everything that has transpired, giving us an extra boost to both fuel us forward & help us let go of what’s now time to move on from. 2017 was a year of beginnings, a lot of growth has taken place & it hasn’t been easy. It’s a freshman vibe & now to keep on growing we have to move on from that last phase, for good. We have to focus on being our best selves so we can manifest our best future. This is the first part of this Supermoon Season lesson, this Super Full Moon in Taurus is helping us see things clearer, get our priorities in order.
