alec checked the clock on the wall one more time. the smell of homemade food was all over the dorm and for once he was glad taejun wasn’t around to either make fun of him or steal the food he just got for the night.
after getting the text from claude, something that truly surprised him, alec focused on making that night special for the two of them. he felt he was lacking when it came to the toseong and their friendship, so the invitation for that dinner sounded like a way of trying to get back to things the way they used to be.
at the same time, it was kind of nerve wrecking at the same time, to have him back at his dorms. alec rarely gave in to the thoughts he buried deep down in his heart and mind, but from time to time they came crashing the natural course of things, making him spend too much time wondering stuff, considering what ifs and making assumptions he shouldn’t have.
in the end, it should all be clear enough the only thing possible: his friendship with claude should mean more than anything for him.
dinner was almost ready - as ready as one could expect - considering he ordered everything from a restaurant the two of them liked and the only thing he needed to do was to heat the menu and set the table for two. he opted for something more casual, dishes set on the coffee table, covered by a suseong flag, instead of using their dinner table.
he was about to go back to the small kitchen they had inside their dorm when the bell ringing caught alec’s attention and just then he realized the way his heart skipped an unconscious beat and he let a breath he didn’t know he had been holding out, walking towards the front door.
“i hope you’re hungry” he spoke, with a smile, as soon as claude’s tall figure materialized in front of him. “dinner’s almost ready. come in.”
