Meanwhile I’m listening to Playing With Fire, the only book I don’t have a physical copy of. So unlike the others, I don’t remember a lot of what happened.

I’m so enjoying Val being a little feisty 13 year old. And I feel like Skulduggery is being more lightheartedly silly with her than the later books.

It’s cute! 😁💗

…But I have the knowledge of the next 12 books, I know things get….progressively less silly.🫣

This line makes so much more sense now. This was the moment Winter lost any doubt in her mind that Ironwood had completely lost it. She knew he couldn’t be talked down. When she says this, she admitting to herself that he has left her no choice. That she had to put Atlas first. That she had to arrest a man who had been like a father to her.

I was watching the first episode of Good Omens and LOOK

They’re holding - or in the proximity of - the three objects that will later summon the Knights of the Apocalypse - a crown, a sword, and a scale.

And of course, in that exact scene, Adam is sitting in his throne.

We’ve talked about the Them symbolically representing the counterpart knights, or the real Knights depending on how one looks at the story - they ride their bicycles just as the other knights ride their horses motorcycles, they wear different colours, they defeat the other knights at the end - but this is actually shown. I repeat this is THE FIRST EPISODE.

We were told that Adam had his knights already in the first. freaking. episode.

And I just... WOW.
