I just wanted to scream over ichigo retiring w someone - I don’t really follow baseball, but the mariners are the closest MLB team to me and I remember when he originally was recruited to the team. My great gma absolutely loved him and some of my greatest memories of her is watching games together as a kid. And I wish I could hear what she would be saying right now, but I imagine it would be something about missing him and being sorry to see him go.
I get the feeling I accidentally said ichigo instead of ichiro, but that’s my autocorrect with Bleach on the brain I guess.

I will TOTALLY scream with you about Ichiro. I was at the gym and on the elliptical when he jogged off the field for the last time in Tokyo (I work out before work, so yes, this was 5:30am for me) and I was literally SOBBING. It wasn’t pretty.
But fuck, I feel like he’s been playing my entire life - I have no idea what baseball is even going to LOOK like without Ichiro on the field. End of an era indeed. :(((
