“I’m not getting out of bed today.”

Sam shook his head, a smile teased over his lips as he looked at Maddy. “Okay,” he said, “But you’ll be spending it all alone in bed ‘cos I’m planning on getting out of the bed and do go a run and then I’m doing my other workout,” he let out a breath, “and today it’s kinda hot outside so I’ll probably be outside shirtless but you won’t see that if you’re staying in bed.” He raised an eyebrow, “pretty sure there will be a lot of people out today that are free to ogle without you yelling at them.”
Clearly Sam wasn’t understanding what Maddy was saying. Was he honestly that clueless when it came to these things? Was he truly going to leave her alone in his bed? Sure they weren’t real but at least he was getting the benefits. Maddy also had to admit that she was getting a decent trade off from this entire arrangement. “Or,” she began to move towards the edge of the bed on her knees. “You can stay in bed.” She reached underneath his arms. Kissing his neck she held onto him. “And you can get your workout with me.” She bit his ear gently, her manicured nails going to his chest. “If you really want to take your shirt off you can.” She almost hummed her words, careful not to speak too loudly in his ear. “You can save me from having to glare and literally fight people who look at what’s mine.” Her jealousy shining through no matter how many times she told herself that this wasn’t real. This wasn’t supposed to be happening. They were only in this to end up with other people. She was a placeholder just as much as he was a placeholder for Nate. This was temporary but in the meantime they could both enjoy it. “Just stay.”
