I guess I’m wondering how hard you tried to do the right thing even before this… shit?” He never cheated on someone before and he had definitely never slept with his girlfriend’s best friend, mostly because he’d never had a girlfriend. Maddy, on the other hand, had a reputation.

Slut shame, she chuckled, as if this was the first time she would have been slut shamed, once so terribly slandered by her ex that she had heard so many times that this wasn’t a surprise. “I wasn’t a cheater before.” At least that was true. Whenever she was with someone she gave herself to them as completely as she could until she felt that they no longer deserved her. Even when Nate had abused her she hadn’t strayed and had stayed by his side hopeful in his change and in their relationship. “I wasn’t someone who would go after their friend’s boyfriends.” She crossed her arms defensive that he would think that she was that person who would have. She had once disliked Ethan so much that she wasn’t even sure why she had caved and started anything with him. “If I did don’t you think I would have gone after someone like McKay instead.” Christopher’s last name one that caused her to roll her eyes but it also gave her a chance to show her frustration again.

the ritual it was becoming , coming home to her & hearing all about her day. whether it be from bartending or hunting , coming home to maddy was the real prize. even if all she talked about was her nails or something he had no personal interest in , it was the fact that their communication skills were being strengthened. she knew what questions to ask — knowing that certain topics made him shut down. eventually , he would love to discuss things with her that hit too deep. she shouldn’t have to feel like she had to walk on eggshells for him , but she understood him well enough to know there were things he just didn’t want to talk about. just as she supported him — that’s all he wanted to do , offer the same for her.

with the heat rising to his cheeks , his face considerably warmer as he laughs. he’s not one to mind her initiating by any means , doesn’t stop his body from reacting to hers. “ really ? we’ve already had premarital sex. “ there’s a snort that passes. to hell with traditional shit anyway , considering the fact they were technically eloping and grateful she’d taken into account that he didn’t need a big fancy wedding to marry her. his body leaned into hers , arms encasing her while she leaned up to kiss him ; returning the kiss. “ I think y’just wanna see me naked, “ he teased against her mouth , retracting very little before he went in for another kiss.

Maddy was known for being sexual, from not shying away from things that made other people uncomfortable. With Thumper there was an ease in how they moved that had always been there. Perhaps it had been the bit of sexual tension they had in the time prior to them actually sleeping together that aided in the chemistry now. “Okay, yeah we have,” she continued not sure if what she was doing was teasing or actually allowing him to have his way with her. “Don’t laugh though.” She nudged him away being playful. “We already have so much against us.” She hadn’t wanted to mention it at all but the dangers that could have come to them wasn’t something she could just gloss over. “Holding his chin she nodded. “But maybe that is my plan.” Hands going beneath his shirt she stopped at his abs. “Just a peek won’t hurt.” As she said her words she connected her lips to his, distracting him as she moved her body to react to his.

There was more to them than just the sexual chemistry. The way they both could read each other so well showing in that moment. “I just want to admire my husband.” Inching his shirt up she already moved to kiss his jawline. “We can do other things.” Her mind beginning to think of other things than just sex they could do to not tempt fate. “I don’t want to tire you out so much that you don’t even show tomorrow.”
