closed starter for @nexiliis (Queen Alisa) // The Festival of Samhain
Once the crowns were placed upon Alisa and Arthur’s head, things changed for all members of the royal house of Godwin with each other's siblings being elevated. Sophia did not care to be third in line because she knew the cost of wearing the crown of England and she had no interest in paying such a price, unfortunately she did not know if the same could be said for her twin brother, but they were thoughts for another day. Following the ceremony lighting of the first bonfire, Sophia and the new Queen Alisa began a walk among the festivities both clearly watching all that was around them but for Sophia there was a little bit of envy. She was determined to make this night an enjoyable one even if it meant dabbling in things she did not believe. There was a small table just off from the bonfires filled with eggs and clear bowls of water that seemed to show the fire light dancing within them and those same flames caught the light of the silver pins. Soon enough, both women were ushered to the booth with eggs and the explanations of the fortune telling were given while Sophia tried to suppress a laugh. When Sophia pricked the egg, she watched as it dripped into the clear water forming different patterns and spikes as the fortune teller deciphered her fate. “It is a fish, your grace and no doubt it means good luck from another country.” The teller explained but Sophia did not believe these platitudes. It was common knowledge that suitors had been searched for in different countries so this was just a safe bet. “How very promising, but I do believe it is our queen’s turn and perhaps her fortune may be just as illustrious as my own.” Sophia said all this while smirking and holding out an egg for the new queen to take. It was hardly fair to the poor fortune teller, if one were to give a royal a bad fortune surely that would not count as traitorous actions but they were here for fun, not for treason. “Maybe the egg will tell if you will finally bless this nation with a little prince or princess.”
