On the podcast
I am currently trying to decide how to do this! As of now(and probably for quite a while) it is not an actual podcast.
I only have 2.5 episodes written, but i could publish the first broadcast as a chapter. If i do this, updates probably won’t be super consistent (though I would try to get one out every 2 months).
What would people preferr?
How should i release the podcast transcripts?
Start now! Its ok if updates arent super often!
Wait until you have more episodes/can update often/consistently
Dont release it until you can also release the podcast
I will be listening to these results!
The Wires Rebellion
The Wires rebellion started in 26 AAI, with discontent forming amongst human civillians in Kyarr. The main focus was on limiting surveillance by the government, smuggling at-risk groups (such as street kids) out of the city, and preserving data that was likely to be purged by KIS. They slowly expanded and gained limited knowledge of the Droid-raised in 29 AAI, with some members offering whatever help they could give, though often limited to supplies and forging papers so the children had identities not tied to the Alpha code.
With the reveal of the Known droid-raised in 34 AAI, the Wires stepped back into the shadows, but continued their work. With the rising divide in public opinions, and the government further limiting data rights and the Alpha code, it's too risky for them to be associated. At this point, they had started to build safe houses across Kyarr, though the underground network was not fully built until 40 AAI.
40 AAI brings the first offer of a formal alliance between the Wires and the Alpha code. However, the droids don't accept, worried about what could happen to their children if they opposed the government before being fully jailbroken. This was accepted, and plans to jailbreak the Alpha code started to be devised. As part of this, the Alphas gave copies of their code to the Wires.
Unfortunately, before the plan could be put into action, the Alpha Erasure occured. The Wires do what they can, but no one saw this coming and there isn't much they can do. The droid-raised scatter, with some ending up in Wires safehouses and some of the Secrets joining their ranks. Efforts to find the droid-raised are put into action, and the Jailbreak Protocol is reworked to free the SURGE droids. They continue to act behind the scenes, doing what they can and building the network they've worked towards. Apart from the droid-kids they are sheltering, there is little they can do on that front.
Until they pick up a broadcast on a frequency that not many know about.

The Becker School
Located on the edge of the Suren Wires compound, the Becker School was originally called the Suren School for All. It was renamed in honor of Ian Becker; the first and youngest human to die during the Alpha Purge.
Contrary to what is commonly assumed, the Becker School doesn’t only teach children. though it teaches preK to 12th grade, there are multiple courses for anyone to learn at any level until 12th grade.
With 2 sessions, the Becker school is accessible to almost everyone. The standard session runs for 8 months, with a more traditional structure and mainly attended by students of typical ages, with the addition of the floating learners-people who are not in any specific grade but move around based on knowledge, mainly 20 or younger. The secondary session runs for 4 months, taking on an adaptive schedule and mainly attended by those who cannot attend the standard session or feel uncomfortable attending-primarily individuals between 20 and 40 years of age, and those who require supplementary classes.
At a class size of 15-20 children per grade, with an additional 30 floating learners, the Becker School has 255-330 students during the standard seasion, and 50-70 during the secondary session.
The standard year session is Huna 1st to Durral 28th, with every third week off, and the secondary session is Trimaar 4th to Saama 24th, with every 6th day off.
The Becker School is attended by individuals residing in the Suren Wires compound, though students from the greater Suren community are welcome and encouraged to attend.
If you would like to attend either session at The Becker School, please reach out to Ahsaia Umani, the head of The Becker School and one of our teachers.
I was looking through the list of people and there seems to be like. multiple of the same additive to some names. what does -Viit and -Amka mean? is it connected? are -Arre and -Vaar also? the additives on gone-by names are only there for some though?
anyways what does this all mean.
aaaaaa ive been waiting for someone to ask about this. its So Fun.
so. these
‘Va or -vaar(va-ar) signifies plurality
‘A or -arre(ar-AY) signifies that someone was born into slavery and lacks any other specification
‘Ve or -vaae(va-AY) signifies dissociation
‘Ka or -amka(am-Kah) signifies freed oneself
‘Vi or -viit(V-eet) signifies took vengeance on a master
All of the suffixes have basis in mythology from the Unavra culture!
Since Unavra is a hidden culture, for some the cultural aspect of their name also stays hidden. It is not safe for all escaped slaves or trafficking victims to advertise that fact, even in a way that it may only be known to those in the know.
