#do we realize there are millions of people in the 1%#regular people do not have their heads around any of this at all - it just happens and we are totally and also not at all complicitly partic #participating #the problem is not like just 5 visible billionaires - it's millions of rich people who occupy the 1% and they are... coordinated through and #within the system

so i finally had my adhd assessment and

1. yay i finally have my meds again but

2. the psychiatrist was legitimately shocked to hear i hadn’t had any access to my medication since i ran out of what i had brought with me from canada, which....how the fuck am i supposed to have been getting my meds if they can only be prescribed by specialists like her by having had an assessment like the one i was currently undergoing???

is2g the nhs is a great system but no one in that system has even the vaguest idea how any part of it that is not the tiny corner they work in operates

they all know that their bit is severely underfunded and not working at peak efficiency but there are ways to mitigate that that they aren’t utilizing because everything is so siloed that they don’t fucking know about them and don’t have the knowledge, the resources, or even just the fucking time to help people navigate the system

#i'm especially talking about the gps here #i feel that a significant part of their job should be helping patients get what they need or as close to what they need as is possible #within the system #including being able to advise on navigating that system #but they don't know shit #and i know they are so overwhelmed and i know that they feel bad about that and are trying #so i'm not blaming them personally as i am the entire way the system is set up #which is just a fucking nightmare #because as far as i can tell there is zero way to get my adhd and anxiety treated at the same time by the same person #i cannot imagine that any doctor in this country is actually of the opinion that you can treat two mental health issues completely separatel #as if they do not cross over and feed into each other constantly #as if one is not at least in part a result of the other #as if the difference between them is even possible at all times to suss out #and know i'm going to run into one therapist telling me one thing is adhd and another one telling me that same thing is anxiety #because that's what they're treating #it's the most counter-productive idea i've ever heard of #like guys #i know you don't want to spend more money on mental health #but maybe if you did it properly it would fucking cost less #anyway #i'm taking my victory and going back to actively never thinking about the nhs and all its problems
