Paring: Sirius Black x Hufflepuff reader
Requested by anonymous: Can you do a Sirius Black x Hufflepuff Reader where the reader is quirky and kind of socially awkward, and Sirius tried flirting with her for a while and she doesn’t respond until Lily and the other Marauders tell her that Sirius actually really likes her? Thank you💖
Note: I kinda changed the part where Lily and the Marauders tell her but it’s somewhat the same. (I hope). Sorry guys I’m taking so long to write these huhu but I promise I’m wroking it. Anyways, hope you like this one. Ps: Hufflepuff yassssss
It was a sunny Saturday in Spring as you sat under a tree with Lily Evans by the Black Lake. Sirius Black, the guy who flirted with anything that wore a skirt, admired you from afar as he sat with his good friends, better known as The Marauders. Your hair caught in the morning light and shone in a way that made his heart beat erratically so hard, he thought it might fly out. Sirius watched you pluck a tiny flower from the grass and placed it in Lily’s hair. He noticed that you had a thing for flowers as you always had flowers neatly weaved into your braided hair The colour of the flowers contrasted your hair, giving a shimmering effect. To him, you looked absolutely angelic.
You had gained his attention when you had been taking a stroll by the Black Lake mid autumn. You had your hair tied back, a yellow scarf wrapped around neck that perfectly matched with your oversized Burgundy sweater. He remembered that moment rather vividly. Your deep pink lips held a small smiles whilst you took in the scenery. Your skin softly glowed, large eyes shone brightly yet filled with calmness.
He was absolutely smitten ever since.
He never had a problem with talking to girls that he liked, but this was totally a different case with you. And it seems that Sirius realized that the only way he could talk to a girl was through flirting.
Sirius knew how you were rather shy and quirky at times, taking from the times he had observed you during classes hence he knew he had to take it easy on you if he wanted to win your heart.
It was about three months when he had decided to make his first move, and well, let’s all say that it didn’t really go as planned.
Sirius had spotted her as she peacefully sat by the window seat, devouring in a book. He took a huge breath and made his way towards her, flowers in hand. Never before he had been so nervous to talk to a girl.
Gathering courage, Sirius tapped your shoulder, "Hello, Y/N." he grinned, feeling his cheeks growing warm.
You looked up to face Sirius, curiosity and confusion written in your face," Oh, uh, h-hello Sir-rius."You avoided all eye contact. You weren’t exactly the one for socializing.
You watched as he brushed a strand of your hair from your face and placed the short stem of the flower behind your ear. Your eyes grew wide as you felt your heartbeat picking up in speed by the second. Once Sirius was certain that the flower was in place, a large smile spread across his face. “There.” he whispered as he placed his warm hand on your shoulder. Giving your shoulder a gentle squeeze, Sirius said, “I’ll see you sometime, Y/N” he walked off, leaving you speechless.
Despite your lack of response to his actions, Sirius continued to dote on you. He had known from the moment he saw you that it was going to take every strength and effort in him to gain your attention. James even came to the point into suggesting that Sirius could just admit his feelings because you weren’t obviously getting the memo but of course, Sirius could never do that. He was afraid that you would be so overwhelmed by that fact and never talk to him again. He was not going to risk that.
He talked about you most of the time to his friends, mostly worrying that you would never like him the same way.
Little did he know, The Marauders had already told your good friend, Lily, about it. (Partly because James wanted to spend more time with Lily.) She was not convinced at first that Sirius, the biggest flirt in Hogwarts, was utterly smitten with a certain quirky Hufflepuff with flowers in her hair. However, after seeing the way he would look at you, she knew she had to bring them together despite her massive hatred towards The Marauders. It was only because of the way you would look at him as well, how you would glance at him longingly now and then.
And that’s how Operation S came about.
So, there sat Sirius with his three friends as he admired how beautiful you looked today and every other day.
What was he supposed to do?
His thoughts were interrupted by James’ yelling, “Oi, Lily!” The two of you turned to see James frantically waving at Lily. You frowned as you looked at him and back to Lily with a questioning look.
“Operation S!” he continued to yell with a smirk spread across his face.
You and Sirius were beyond confuse at that very moment.
Lily smiled at you before getting up and made her way towards the boys.
“Sirius, you really need to tell Y/N about how you feel.” Lily stood in front of Sirius, crossing her arms. She had told the others she was going to be straightforward with Sirius but none of expected her to be that straightforward.
“W-wha?” his eyes widen, completely taken back by Lily’s words.
“Or I’m going to do it for you.” She waited for his reply, but he couldn’t even think of a single response. Nevertheless, Sirius was absolutely not going to do that.
Receiving no reply Sirius, Lily turned back to where she had sat previously with you, taking large strides. Sirius instantly stood up and called after her, but she continued on walking.
As she reached to where you sat, you asked, “What was it they wanted, Lily?” You knew Lily’s hatred towards the boys which made you even more confused by the situation that had just taken place.
“Y/N, Sirius Black over there, likes you a lot, but he doesn’t seem to have the courage to tell you. And admit it Y/N, you like him too. I see it in the way you look at him.” Lily said in one breath as she pointed towards the group.
Sirius Black, the boy you had accidentally fallen for, actually liked you back.
Before you could process everything, Lily was already dragging Sirius to where you were. He looked like he was about to die at any moment. And yet you still managed to see how beautiful he looked with his divine hair in the wind and his blue piercing eyes that seemed to shimmer in the sun.
Lily had dragged Sirius to where I was and left, leaving us alone.
There was a pregnant silence before Sirius decided to sit beside you, his shoulder brushing against yours. A single touch was enough to make your heart race a million miles.
“Do you like me, Y/N?” he said softly as he plucked a flower from the grass.
You looked at him with wide eyes, a red tinge crept up your cheeks.
“Because I like you too, Y/N. A lot.” he continues as he placed the stem of the flower behind your ear, just like the very first time he had talked to you.
“Yeah, I do like you.” you nodded, grinning like a goofball.
Sirius continued to stare into your eyes with his charming smile spread across his lips.
