i love you pratchett protagonists i love that there is something genuinely psychologically amiss with you i love you rincewinds implied potato fetish i love you vetinari reading sheet music i love you vimes knowing exactly what street you’re on by the feel of the cobbles.
“oh my little soldier boy” and it’s vimes teaching his younger self how to be a copper
shoutout to rincewind for always knowing who he is and how things will go for him and for always being a relatable main character when it comes to inconvenient situations. ive been there bro
hot take but jax apologists are missing the point when ppl make jokes like "jax & friends the movie" because it is kind of glaringly obvious that jax is the author's favorite in the way he's given the most attention.
in a series with 9 episodes it was jarring to see him basically become the main character beside pomni after being a side character for the first 5 episodes (and even then his presence was somehow spotlighted with either vague allusions to his lore, someone mentioning him even he's not around, completely stealing the show in literally everyone else's adventures [the corn in zooble's bar, the maid outfit in ragatha's softball game] etc.).
yes im aware the other characters have lore and important moments. but compare zooble's dysmorphia/gangle's barely explored shift-manager community-college-dropout background/ragatha's relationship with her mother, all of which are either mentioned once or in passing.
episode 5 is the first time we learn anything important about her as a person. there are more interactions present in TADC that feel as if their purpose is to further the "jax mystery" or build upon him as a character, which is strange, because wasn't pomni supposed to be the main protagonist?
it would have been nice to have fully explored all of these characters equally, rather than have one character hog every meta moment or perform most of the plot-driving choices. episode 5 was meant to be ragatha's episode and it just wasn't??? all she did was unveil more vague jax lore by mentioning jax's abstracted friends. gooseworx didn't have to announce that jax was her self-insert/favorite character because Girl We Can Tell.
also the manufactured stammering in the dialogue has gotta go thanks thats all
sorry but anybody who says the planetronika female character designs are worse than gameoverse's is so obviously born after the year 2012

developed a habit where I just lick my lips when I see a piece of artwork of a character I like this is bad
