Julian ended up taking me on a late-night walk through Uptown’s beautifully illuminated streets. We were laughing and talking about everything that’d happened in our silly little lives so far. Then he began acting weird and awkward, claiming he was feeling queazy, and asked if I wanted to stay over anyhow. I happily agreed. Any time with him was time well spent.
Turns out the important thing he wanted me over for was just a date, but I didn’t understand why this date was so important.
“Good evening gorgeous.”
Explaining the situation to Ashton, I wondered if I should even go over to Julian’s. I wondered if what seemed important to Jules would be more important than me being there for Ash.
“I mean being stuck with my mom for the night isn’t ideal but I’ll survive,” he laughed fakely.
“Are you sure?”
“Positive. I’ll be okay Tess. I’ll be okay.”
Sighing and reluctant to leave, I looked him over once more before waving goodbye and going to hail a cab.
“Hey my boyfriend, Julian - you remember him right? He just texted me to come over to his apartment and that it’s important. I trust that Ash’ll be okay with you.”
“Absolutely! Have a good night Tessa.”
“You too. Oh and there are some leftover brownies in the fridge if you want some.”
“You don’t have to tell me twice.”
