Raspberry Beret!

I was working part time in a five-and-dime My boss was Mr. McGee He told me several times that he didn’t like my kind ‘Cause I was a bit too leisurely

First (proper) tasting (chilled and everything) of this “Princely Looking” glass of my favourite of the recent fruit Saison experiment I did. The fresh raspberries, minerally crisp pilsner and mellow funk from the WLP566 Saison yeast, are all present in the aroma, good start!

Tart, tangy and sharp raspberries are what this is all about, a little tannic bite from the pips, body is thin, refreshing and lacing is decent, there is a slight perfumed note from the hops as it warms up, doesn’t finish quite as dry as I would like and I wouldn’t mind a bit more hop bite but I am quite satisfied with the way this has developed.

My tasting notes, I know aren’t at the level of some of my better palate educated peers (so I’ll hand out a few samples for them to feedback) and I concede I am a touch under the weather tonight but just couldn’t wait to give this a try. As I only did a gallon of each, fruit matter was on the big side, so this is strictly limited edition for now and hey whilst it’s no Rose de Gambrinus pretty proud of this!
