#sorry bc you're gonna hear me talk about him in world of darkness campaign a lot because BOY OH BOY he's a different and worse character #and it's FUNNN #here's the thing: I've been developing him and his relationship to the campaigns giorno equivalent (raphael) and it's #so much weirder and more codependent and worse :)#so. raphael is a dhampir. in world of darkness true dhampir are rare and kind of a sign of the End Times #my boy is a LITTLE BIT the vampire antichrist #his father (the dio equivalent vampire) wants to usher in the end times. he was trying to make dhampir On Purpose for exactly that #he wants to get his hands on raphael Badly. a lot of other vampires want raph killed #ves saved raph by hunting the vampire that was trying to cull raph when he was 12 #the hunt almost killed ves and it forced him into retirement #that was only about 5 years ago so it's rawer and fresher for both of them #raph is about 17 and he knows that one day he will stop aging and live forever. he also knows that ves is 60 and smokes.#he is Not handling the disparity in their lifespans well.#ves is also kind of..... so starved for meaningful connection that he's far less scrupulous than he is in canon #meaning: he is willing to teach raph to kill vampires #knowing that this kid definitely plans to use that knowledge to enact violence #(he is built on the bones of a giorno. he wants to overthrow vampire society and make his way to the top to change it.)#(he does not like vampire shit. however he does not feel fully human either. he belongs nowhere Except wherever Ves is)#(they're weird and codependent. raph just shows up in ves's apartment sometimes without asking. like a stray cat.)#(he's very much a stray. his mother doesn't give a shit what he's up to so he comes and goes as he pleases. is involved in petty crime.)#(so he shows up at ves's whenever he feels like it. and ves can't tell him no so he just lets him.)#he knows this kid is half monster. can tell. still thinks of him as just a kid. cause he IS.#and ves is so desperate to have done one good thing with his life. to have made a single positive outcome. that he clings to raph So tight #weird paternal codependency between this dhampir kid and ex vampire hunter YEAAAAAAAAAH #my ocs #ves #vesuvio bruciato #wod ves #WoD ves
