I love the embroidery on this because it's so different from his other red looks. The scattered stitches seem impressionistic and evocative of floating leaves or blowing petals, to me, initially. When the fighting starts, I feel like the stitching is an illustration of his chaotic emotional state.

In the third picture you can see the tasseled loop of the fan is wrapped around his thumb, which I assume is how he's able to spin it without dropping it.

I've increased the contrast on the lapel pattern in this image so you can see how it resembles this pattern he wore when he was having his last good day as a kid.

The lighter palette on his duel outfit is also evocative of his parents' clothing and this kid outfit...a nice touch for this scene of reclaiming his identity.

We don't get a really great look at this outfit because this whole scene is mainly about other characters, and is full of spoilers* and the fight sequence is filmed and cut to be as chaotic as humanly possible. But I've slowed the clips down so you can see the cool leaf embroidery on his outer robe. The red in the palette comes from his second inner robe and his belt, which are deep deep blue (or black?) with a line of blood red piping.

*I try to keep my costume posts relatively spoiler-free, since I'm hoping to hook new viewers.
