Boromir Week Day 7: Freeform

I really wanted to eke something out on time, and sufficient Boromir thoughts coupled with some very sad, very ‘Mir Mountain Goats songs got me here.

Traditional drawing, .7 mechanical pencil, inspired by a couple of gif sets I have of That scene from the end of Fellowship. He’s just.. so Doomed, esp. by his place in the narrative.

Envoy for the strength and dependability of Men, foil to the ranger-king with a throne to grow into, First to fall to the ring, separated from his people and his peers, born and bred to die for a kingdom he does not get to save, that he will sacrifice everything he considers his for, that he will never see again.

I feel really normal things about him, is what I’m trying to say.
