(SNF child fic on their first halloween. Enjoy!) “You got your coat?” “Yep!” “And you mittens?” “Uh huh!” “And your scarf?” “Sap, it’s her first halloween. Not her first trip to Antarctica.” George chuckled as he watched his husband fuss over their daughter. It was halloween night and their daughter, Rosie, was so excited to finally go trick or treating. She ran all around Spirit Halloween a few weeks ago to find a costume before eventually choosing a fairy princess dress with her own tiara and wand. And even though they lived in one of the warmest damn states in the country, Sapnap was still fussing over her not being dressed properly. “Well, what if it suddenly gets colder during the night? What if its already cold when we go outside? Do you want our daughter to get hypothermia, Georgie?” Sapnap rattled off. Even though George knew he wasn’t being completely serious, he knew when his husband gets nervous and rambles out all of his thoughts. Shaking his head, George walked over and gently slapped his hands against Sapnap’s cheeks before squishing them together, “She’s gonna be fine. We live in Florida, its still gonna be warm outside. Even if she does get cold, she can rest against you since you’re our personal furnace.” Sapnap groaned at the embarrassing comparison. He knew it was true but still he didn't need to acknowledge it. He grabbed at the hands on his cheek and pulled them away slowly so he could talk.
"I know she'll be ok. It's just...I want this is be the most perfect halloween ever. Its the first one she's probably gonna remember, I want it to be special." "And you'll have plenty of opportunities in future for even more special holiday nights. Let's just get our daughter some free candy, ok?" Sapnap sighed and nodded his head. The two of them shared a quick kiss before George made him go to their room so he can put his own costume on as a fairy knight. George already had his fairy king costume on. A hand gently tugged on his pants and he looked down to see his Rosie looking up at him with her large brown eyes. "Is Baba getting ready?" She asked.
George leaned down to hoist her up and balance her against his chest, "Yep, Baba is just putting on his special armor and then we'll head out. You excited, princess?" She cheered and waved her wand around as if to demonstrate her "magic abibities". Sapnap came downstairs a few minutes later in the suit of armor, it was mostly foam pieces but they made it work. They shared another quick kiss before Sapnap helped fixed Rosie's crown and went out the front door. At the end of the night, Rosie had a full bucket of candy and fell asleep in Sapnap's arms as they walked home.
