Wolfie is just out of theatre, and is coming around at present. Due to his liver being weak, the anaesthetic is taking longer to wear off, but he’s getting there. They have removed 3 litres of fluid from his abdomen which should make it easier for him to breath, and they will continue to remove more in coming days. He still has a lot more fluid inside him and unfortunately is still gaining fluid. While he has a lot of fluid remaining it is not safe to open him up as he could go into shock with loss of pressure, and it makes scans unclear or impossible. They have managed to successfully make the neck incision and get the feeding tube in. We are hopeful this will help give him some much needed strength. Today is day 9 without food. Unfortunately, he is now also showing signs of jaundice which is another indicator that the liver is struggling, and his white blood cell count is through the roof. They will not be feeding him today due to the anaesthetic. Your continued help and support is needed to try get him trough this. We need him strong for the liver biopsy and he will be an inpatient for quite some time. He needs to get strength, then go on 12 hour fast for more tests. At present, bloods show no signs of cancer, and the quick scan they managed today showed no lumps or growths on his liver. Thank you for everyone for all you have done and a special thank you to castle vets for working with us and helping save our baby. we appreciate all the continued concern, help, support, and donations. https://www.gofundme.com/1lsfwvuc6o?pc=ot_co_dashboard_a&rcid=df9eb3b4e08e49a79791b1e3bd2a5b32 #wolfiesarmy #savewolfie (at Castle Veterinary Group) https://www.instagram.com/p/BwNDv2hFo_Q/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1lzng7unj71m3
