Not too late to wear scrubs... Look for other opportunities in the medical field?
True. I have been applying at hospitals and clinics like mad -- for even admin and receptionist positions. Even cleaners. No dice. *sigh* Over-qualified for those, under-experienced for the stuff I really want. The problem is I can't afford to work for free in this intern-slave-labour industry nowadays. I need to pay bills and loans back that I had to take out to afford uni in the first place in order to get these jobs! What a dumb system we have. The problem is most of the "scrub-wearing" professions require other college diplomas or uni degrees and I simply can't afford (money or time-wise) to go back to school -- again. I am just a very poor planner and never made allowances for a back-up plan in case med school didn't play out the way I wanted.
Now I'm just a wandering biologist, lol. (Which tbf, I would love a career in conservation biology or wildlife biology as well. But the issue with those is very similar: it's ALL unpaid and I cannot survive with that, experience or not. I can't pay my VISA bill or student loans with good intentions and volunteer hours. I'm barely scraping by as it is. In fact, I would likely be in bankruptcy/prison if not for the generosity of my gf... (and ex-bf) who basically support my dumb ass.)

Certain pharmacies have you wear scrubs, I think it kinda falls under biology, and it makes enough money to career (plus technically no degree required to start)
I would love to! I've actually looked into this! :D I adore pharmacology (toxicology, psychopharmocology, clinical, etc.) which is strange for someone who is not the biggest fan of chemistry, I suppose, so I was thinking about a MSc in Pharmacy and failing that, a job in a pharmacy. Again, I run into the "You need a specialised college diploma to do even the most menial of tasks in a pharmacy." At least here in Canada you do need college qualifications to even be behind a pharmacist's counter. To be a proper pharmacist you must have a Pharmacy degree (minimum: BSc Pharm; preferred: MSc or PhD Pharm. Ugh). And once I looked at money/time/etc. for the MSc, I realised I can't even afford a college diploma either. So, all in all, it may be a few years before I can even look into it again seriously. If I could do it all over again (and had the benefit of my experience now), I may have just gone straight for Pharmacology. Or veterinary school (Too late for this as well...). I should have trusted my instincts and my 8-year-old self who could never think of being anything but a vet. (It was only when Dana Scully came around that I thought medical doctor would be more my style.)
FFS, here in Ontario you need a college certificate to just stand at the side of the road and hold a stop sign. (I am not joking. You need to go to fucking college for that!) (Yes, I've looked into doing this too lmao.)
