Today was a special occasion; moreso than other Fridays. Enough for Kosta to put a dress shirt on and tuck it neatly into his pants. To top it all off, he actually took the time to iron his shirt this time. Kosta is no stranger to professional attire, but found himself lacking in this well-dressed behavior for the past few weeks.

He walked up the few steps to Horia’s house. A hand raised to knock, he hesitated, then proceeded to let himself in. Today was their weekly lunch together, except they had agreed to step it up a notch and go somewhere a lot fancier tonight.

“Horia? You didn’t forget about today, did you?” He called into the house, standing at the front door and adjusting his collar.

🌺 - How much do you draw on personal experiences when roleplaying?

Honestly? It varies. As a writer, the more I experience, the more I can write about- true- but say for muses like Hetalia ones, I don’t draw on my own experiences much at all because I just don’t think it fits too well. An immortal country vs a mortal with two decades under their belt? Vastly different experiences and I just don’t feel anything could click. Thus it’s reading second hand for stuff like that, and kind of...improving their experiences.

I’m more likely to put my own experiences into my novel or DnD roleplaying. I have a drow wizard who, his occupation leads him into make up and costume-y things. I have a tiefling wizard who has a family who started in a weird way but is supportive and loving, and no matter what she does, they love her, so she goes off and is trying make her way in life. My tiefling rogue is a literal mess and the least pulled fro my life probably, but she probably has parallels.

Like, sometimes it’s nothing like me, but sometimes I pull vague little things because I know about them. You write what you know, right?

Җ - What’s your greatest source of inspiration when it comes to role-playing?

[ I’ve seen this answer on my dashboard a few times before, and I’m going to join the bandwagon: learning about my muse’s country and its culture&history! I’m also really into languages, so I learn the language as well (what means I’m actively studying 3 different languages atm)! + listening to the music I mentioned in the music ask!

I feel like the better I know the history, the easier it is for me to form relationships between my muse and other people’s muses, what gives me more opportunities for forming friendships/enemies relationships. I think it’s awesome, current events research is fun too, because countries representations are imo muses that keep on giving, since something new happens in a country all the time & it influences a character in one way or another. I hope this!! makes sense! ]
