As mentioned in one of my previous posts I worked at a charity fashion event presented by I'm Not From London and NottsMusic the other week. The event was held for the charity Framework in Nottingham who help the homeless. The collections were by independant Nottingham designers, vintage shops such as, Cow, Past and Present, Frock, Wild and White Rose, and Doc Martens who have recently opened a store here in Nottingham. The event was really fun and had a good energy, there was live music as well by home artists such as Just James and Stiff Kittens to name a few. This was my first fashion show that I had ever been involved in which was quite exciting and eye opening. My position was mainly as a runner, dressing and undressing the models, sorting out the clothes and making sure they were in the right place at the right time, (an that they came back alright!). I also got to help with some small bits of styling which was fun as most of the clothes were really nice, especially the Doc Martens collection! My favourite independant designers were Truth and Howl, Truth specialise in tie dye print T-shirts and beanies, and Howl specialised in graphic print T-shirts.
All in all I had a great time, met a lot of talented and great people, saw a lot of nice clothes and managed to raise quite a bit of money for charity!
The best bit which I seem to keep finding in this little city is that if you look hard enough there are a lot of talented and hard working people creating a legacy for Nottingham to be proud of.
This is a video which was made of the evening by WolfPack Media (editing and cinematography), which perfectly captures the mood of the event.
Happy watching!
