In another attempt to quench his thirst for contentment, the Beyonder decides to try becoming mortal again, this time by creating a birthing machine, complete with an amniotic fluid spewing sphincter, that can siphon off his omnipotent power and filter his being down to a mortal form as he is born into the world as a newborn child. He then tests this machine on the New Mutants, who he recently obliterated but whose life force he saved off just in case he needed it for something like this.
