Museslash is reborn!
Hello Tumblr peeps!
My name is nuraicha and I’m a mod in the new Dreamwidth community MUSESLASH. Some of you might remember the old community on Livejournal: a haven for every Muse fan who liked m/m pairings with the members of this British band. Museslash was born in 2004 (!!) and have since then lived a long and exciting life, growing along with Matt, Chris and Dom and producing tons of excellent fanfiction over the years.
With the decline of popularity of Livejournal as a blogging site, the comm started withering, and the recent changes of Terms of Service on the website made us fear the end was near (these ToS could very well affect all LGTBIQ+ content posted). We couldn’t bear the thought of risking to lose more than a decade (!!) of writing and fandom fun, so we decided to... GIVE IT A SECOND LIFE AND RISE AGAIN! :D
As of yesterday, MUSESLASH is now a Dreamwidth community; this site has a very similar code to LJ, and provides us with most of the features we loved on the old comm: an ideal place to post fics, comment them, and make friends along the way. We’re currently importing to DW all the posts on the old MS, so when it’s over we’ll have an exact copy of most fics ever posted there, and a safe place to start creating new fanfiction. We’re so excited!
However, we want more, much more. What we liked the most about the old Museslash wasn’t only the gay, but the friendship and companionship vibe that it gave. We want our comm to be just exactly like that, a community of passionated Muse fans who also enjoy writing, reading and discussing fictional gay stories about Matt, Dom and Chris. Therefore, we have decided to spread our influence and also be on Twitter (account coming up #soon) and Tumblr, so here we land!
The reborn Museslash is still on nappies, but the new mods (mcsparklez, spiralstatix, matturemuser and I, nuraicha), as well as former LJ mod (easilyerased), are doing our best to get it up and running sooner rather than later! We have BIG plans for the community, and we can’t wait to show them to you! For the moment, you can now read our welcome post and brainstorming post, where you can discuss what you’d like to see in this new comm and also get an idea of what we have already planned ;)
As for this Tumblr? Well, even though Dreamwidth is now our home, we want to reach as many slasher musers as we can! Here we will crosspost links to the fics posted on the comm, challenges and fests we’re hosting, announcements... Basically the content hosted on our main site. However, we will profit from Tumblr’s many possibilities! We have all kind of ideas running in our heads right now, but we would want to make of this blog a great place to find everything Muse-gayness related! :P So expect pics, fanart, gifs... All kind of posts to inspire our writers on their slashy adventures, and to satisfy the undisclosed desires of the readers’ eyes!
