Despite loving her family and siblings very much, Hazel decided her life was turning stagnant, the slog of daily routine getting her down. Thus, she decided to bid a tearful goodbye to the Aboretum Pack and undertake a lonely but fulfilling expedition of more faraway lands. She ran from, met, befriended many other solo wolves and groups, both large and small.
After a couple of months of travel, Hazel faced her first problem - she was being hunted down by a pack of coyotes after a leg injury, until coming upon Conlis Peak Pack's pack of hunters, who chased off the bony animals.
Aubron, leader of the hunting pack, brought her to Bear, the pack's herbalist, first to treat her, with a rule that after recovering, she will stay with Conlis Peak a while to pay back for the safe haven she received.
Hazel fit in wonderfully with the hunters - she was the chaser they were missing. Plus, she missed the feeling of having a team to fall back on like during the time she was in the Aboretum Pack. Tialha was easily persuaded to let Hazel join Conlis Peak Pack as a member of the family. After all, the pack was in dire need of hunters and the head of the pack was all too happy to have some weight lifted off her shoulders.
