Four ferrets: Ernest, Mary, Joseph and Dick. The four are named after famous explorers (courtesy of Uncle Albert).
They also have three horses: Cezar, a bay Malopolski stallion, Izaak, a black colt of the same breed, and finally, a dapple grey Welsh Pony called Alice.
Cezar is Uncle Albert’s trusty steed, Izaak is Cheslock’s, and Alice used to be Aunt Helen’s until the horse, one day, suddenly bolted and threw her rider to the ground, injuring Helen so badly she has been invalided ever since.
Finally, they have a parrot called Norman who only speaks Norwegian. Albert bought a Norwegian to English dictionary purely so he could understand what the bird said.
