Do you have any idea how hard it is to read smutty fantasy in a restaurant sitting next to a table full of posh middle aged women venting about their spouses and kids and kids' spouses? Fortunately, @chloegunterauthor 's legendary opening line to her contribution in the #wolvesandwarriors anthology was an immediately relatable scene stealer. Don't I know it, Sadie! Tied to the Wolves also turned out to be a short sweet romp into the Threadline Agency universe that I greatly enjoyed. A young witch is running across the country to escape her manipulative and controlling fiance, and lands up in the den of four of the most notorious wolf shifters in the area. Sadie is an interesting and relatable heroine and the four wolves she enters into a poly relationship with are distinct and intriguing in their own right. I would definitely love to see more of them in the Threadline novels. The anthology itself feels a bit hit or miss to me. It is full of short stories and novellas with fun and interesting premises, and many of them, like Tied to the Wolves, really hit the mark. While others, including some by authors I really like otherwise, missed it for me. I will review and recommend individual stories from the anthology that I really ended up enjoying.
