Quotes ahead of the match
Former Wolves U23s boss Rob Edwards, who left his role at the club at the start of October to join the FA had this to say about Wolves’s participation this year in the Premier League International Cup.
“It’s a brilliant competition to be involved in and we’re all really looking forwards to it. We’ve just signed Meritan Shabani and he won it with Bayern Munich last year, so he’s got that experience of being in and around a great competition.
“All three games against PSG, Liverpool and Athletic Club pose different challenges and it will be a great experience for the lads. These are going to be top European clubs featuring the top players – tactically they’ll be spot on, physically they’ll be great – so it’s going to pose a different challenge for us as staff, as well as the players.
“To have that game at Molineux against PSG will be great and hopefully we can surpass the 3,000 supporters we had watch Man United last season, because playing these sorts of games against this level of teams, with fans supporting the team will be a big step towards helping the players on their journey to first-team football.”

What is the Premier League International Cup?
The Premier League Cup was created five years ago.
The idea of it was to provide a chance for academies of English teams to challenge themselves against some of the best academies all over Europe.
Previous winners of this competition have included the likes of Manchester City, Porto and more recently Bayern Munich who won the competition last season.
All games in this competition take place in the UK. Either at English Premier League grounds, or neutral grounds around the UK. E.g After the PSG match, Wolves take on Athletic Club (Bilbao) U23s and Liverpool U23s at AFC Telford’s New Bucks Head ground.
This is Wolves’s first year in the competition with the likes of Blackburn Rovers and AS Monaco also making their debut in the competition.
Wolves are in Group E with PSG U23s, Liverpool U23s and Athletic Club (Bilbao) U23s.
