imo mononoke handles "guns in fantasy" really well
itās because monoke takes direct inspiration from real history! just like where i mentioned GoT does it well because the author didnāt invent much. mononoke, despite being a fantasy setting is really rooted in actual japanese history, around the 16th century where japan started making guns. Compare Lady Eboshi with a drawing of tanegashima guns
it isnāt only guns, the movie doesnāt try to hide itās inspiration from history, like Ashitaka (I think thats his name?) being from the Ebishi people as they were dissapearing. Itās not explicit either as in thatās not the focus of the movie to teach history but I believe japanese people and people who know about history of Japan would catch it immediatly :0

"#corn industry/farming was a research topic of mine in the past" personally or for academia? because either one of those would have an interesting story behind it
I started it for academia, as part of a college application essay thing that was partially personal interest, but then I realized I can literally shit the easiest turd ever out and when I submitted my no effort paper, I got extremely positive reviews from the college and I just sidelined the corn paper for later. Never finished it thoughĀ
chen my manga boy have you read the nausicaa manga. what are your thoughts on early miyazaki
iāve been meaning to read the manga for quite a while now, i just never got around to it. iāll read it now though since i was just gonna lay in bed and stare at the ceiling for a few hours, but what i can say about it now is that i definitely appreciate most of the designs iāve been shown from it, always enjoy stuff that comes from real world study as opposed to stuff inspired by other fiction (not that thereās any demerit to the latter it just tends to feel more derivative)
I havenāt read too much Miyazaki manga in general either, just the SUPER early stuff like Sabaku no Tami (while looking this up to make sure I got the name right, saw that itās apparently a proto-Nausicaa) which is interesting considering its overall dark tones next to his later works, I think he used to be a lot more focused on his grievances with human malice (and airplanes! nearly all of his manga involves planes in some sense!) but has diversified since
Also havenāt watched most Ghibli anime, only what people have really pushed to watch together with me. I donāt really make a habit of watching that much anime
50, 55, 3
50: top 3 web-pages?
i liked hardcoregaming101 before the site redesign, havenāt visited much since so i canāt speak much about the quality of their articles now
other than that, i guess rpgcodex and twitter? twitter for cool unknown japanese art stuff
55: how is your hair?
fluffy and soft as usual, iāve been losing a somewhat worrying amount over the past several months though, i assume thatās just all the stress of gay shit thatās been happening to me
3: what do you think of when you hear the word āmeow?ā
already answered, i think of a cat, what else would i think?

hardly ever, itās an actual issue i forgot about
20.Ā What is the easiest thing for you to draw?
i think thatās easy to guess, but itās just boring anime busts
