@wonhotw , tell me about the dream where we pull the bodies from the lake
the sun beats down on his skin, and all hyungwon can do is think of death.
if he’s being honest, the reason he hates glamour is not because of the legs that it provides him with - as much as he likes to say that they’re the problem, it isn’t the root. at his core, he’s a mermaid with the skin of a fish; out too long in the sun and he’ll dry out far faster than any of the more land dwelling fables would. dehydration for a mermaid can be deadly.
but hyungwon is not and honest, and he is more stubborn than not. he holds his head proud when he walks into the sun and it’s true that he’s fine for a time - until he’s not. the sun is far too bright on a summer’s day and hyungwon’s legs are shaking under the rays that beat down on skin that’s sensitive, and this is why he curses the mayor of fabletown because magic can only hide the biological, not take it away.
he wonders if anyone thought of that when they tried to force him to hide his tail with glamour.
it’s an awful feeling to sense your skin start to flake when it dries. hyungwon attempts to wet cracking, full lips with his tongue only to find that even that won’t suffice because he needs to get into the water - now, it seems. he’s overextended his stay in the sun, but hyungwon doesn’t ask for help ( he knows all too well that even if he called, no one would come. ) fabletown is a fucking joke.
all these thoughts swirl and swim in a befuddled mind, desperate to take off his stupid legs and fall into water somewhere but even he knows he’s way too far from absolem to make it there before he dies on the street. of course this is how it ends, not by hook or peter’s hand - but the damn sun.
and still, he’s way too proud to ask for help, even from a passerby.
