Originating with the Mardi Gras Indians of New Orleans and their history of perseverance, "Won't Bow Down" in modern times is often associated with Post-Katrina New Orleans and last year was adopted by the New Orleans Pelicans. In its latest iteration "NOLA Healthcare Won't Bow Down" has become a grassroots campaign to rally the spirit of the city behind its healthcare workers. New Orleans transplant artist and musician Brent Houzenga says "it is we who write history as it is made" and this April he was one of six artists asked to create posters and prints memorializing this new chapter. Houzenga went one step further and applied his design to this mural on Esplanade Ave looking toward Bayou St John and City Park. @houzenga/
