its been a long day... he returns to Auden’s home as he has no where else to lounge. he’s not a normal person, never has been. even in a world that seems to accept various species and races, he was still a black sheep. he felt fake, a sad sort of sigh escapes him as he unlocks the door to Auden’s place, he drops his bag immediately at the side and walks in, bumping immediately into his companion. Auden extends his arms, to which Xen immediately falls into them. he’s not been one for closeness lately, seeming rather distant for an unknown reason. he doesn’t move for a bit, then he looks up at Auden, sharing their silent moment he pulls him into a warm kiss. a sort of purr emanating from him throughout the kiss.

the evening's come to a close by now. not a soul left to traverse the streets - neon light seemingly falling in fragmented segments of rain. perhaps it's a trick of the eye that makes it appear so, for it is only a downpour and not the case of faulty signs sparking in duress. all considered it is a soothing sort of atmosphere made better by nature's own white noise; though, there is a song playing somewhere in the distance. familiar, but not by any name he knows. something like jazz. . . he isn't sure entirely sure, really.
the overhang above shields him from the worst of the elements, as does the man before him. the one lingering so close he feels his breath at the chilled skin of his throat. all the same, their clothes are in a state of ruffled and soaked all due in part to their hubris. he doesn't quite catch what auden's saying at first, his mind's leagues away by then and his hands ( brazenly upon his hips ) are the only anchor he knows. if at all he comes from his muddled thoughts it's only when he catches himself, calloused fingertips dipping past the waistband of his pants. he laughs, low and muffled. ❝ yeah? me too. ❞

he’s right, she’s a bit unnerving to say the least. social skills just about exceed many expectations for someone who was trapped without a friendly soul in sight for eight years. what she had learned was to never take your eye off someone , even if they seemed friendly. many come and go through the deep roads, but only the strong survive. whether it be the tainted or just another Darkspawn troop, it was a matter of staying alert. blink and you miss it, the chance for survival. ‘ just making sure no one decides it high time to play Knife the Hawke in the face. the stare makes them second guess themselves. As if they have spinach stuck in between their teeth. ‘ she smiles, maintaining her chilly stare still as they speak. ‘ you can’t say it’s not amusing to watch them wriggle in their boots while trying to be suave. ‘
