We are pleased to announce that we have launched FYI Secrets to Worcester State University!
Shamelessly jamming out in the library while doing homework
leads to people questioning your mental stability.
I'm just sitting here, sprawled across a chair and an ottoman using the windowsill as a shelf for all my shit and jamming out while working on a powerpoint presentation for my education class. Because the section of the library I am in is very rarely occupied, I have no problem silently jamming out to my iPod while working.
I got so into my silent jam session that I was completely oblivious to the small group of students staring at me from a few shelves over AND to the group of construction workers on the pathway just outside the window.
Ain't even mad, bro.
This is a class I need to take
My final class of the day on Mondays and Wednesdays ends at 4:45. While leaving the class, I suddenly hear the question
"What is the name of the bank run by goblins?"
To which I immediately replied
"Gringotts!"
I had unknowingly walked into a cram session for a class called Adolescent Literature, and several students were preparing for a test beginning at 5. The woman asking the questions looked directly at me and asked
"What vault is the mysterious package in?" "713" "Who drives the cart?" "Griphook the goblin" "What shop does Harry go into to get his wand?" "Ollivander's"
This group of students, all in their thirties, stared at me. One man asked me if I was in the class. When I didn't know what he was talking about, they realized that I had read Harry Potter for fun and all began pelting me with various questions about the book, the sequence of events, et cetera. These people were enrolled in a class about adolescent literature and what makes it appealing to people within a certain age group. One woman asked me when I had read the books. When I told her I had gone to release parties in libraries for the books and that I practically had all of them committed to memory, and that they were my favorite books, they continued to ask me about characters and how the whole series ended. Once I answered all of their questions, they asked me if I had ever read the Lord of the Rings series.
I just tutored a group of thirty-somethings on Fellowship of the Ring and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
I need to take that class.
Do you have friends who sing "Man I feel Like A Woman"
or any other bizarre song with you when it randomly gets stuck in your head?
Do you have friends who provide you with delicious teas that cure stomach pains?
Do you have friends who give you food because they know you're a seagull who picks off their plates but they love you anyways?
I do!
Recently, Von asked me if I would consider transferring to a private college if I were to ever become a millionaire. I honestly don't think I would. While Worcester State was not my first choice school, I have grown to really love it. Even if some of the professors make me want to tear my hair out, the entire experience I have had thus far has been wondrous. The people I interact with on a daily basis have made what may have been an average college experience into something beautiful that I would not trade for the world. I enjoy my classes and all, but without my friends by my side I do not feel like I would love Woo State as much as I do.
You guys know who you are, and I appreciate all of you.
SO CLOSE
Yet so far.
That awkward moment when the length of the assignment is scaring you away from doing the assignment.
Still only have five pages, you guys.
I have two days to write a 10-14 page paper
I have maybe 5 pages done that I wrote earlier that definitely needs to be tweaked.
I got this.
