Fairy Tail 100 year quest chapter 50. Crazy how not only are we half way to the big 100. But this chapter in general. It seems everyone has managed to be back to normal and yet Touka wasn’t defeated/separated from the white mage? All of this didn’t weaken the wood dragon god but instead it caused him to become far more deadly and powerful? Why were the orbs placed for them? Was it to tame the dragon god or was it to keep him at rest until he would bring destruction. I know off topic but I had to mention this cute Gruvia moment. Juvia so concerned for Gray she wishes for him to be protected by her water only for her power to come back lol. But turns out the white mage was betrayed and lied to by something or someone more powerful being the dragon moon goddess named Selene. And ain’t she a beaut! Looking forward to what chapter 51 will bring, how the wood dragon will be defeated and the white mage’s fate. This chapter gets an 8/10 from me.
(Cont'd:) The fact that it took me such a long time to continue posting this little retrospective series says enough about how much trouble I have managing a social media presence on top of everything else. :') Regardless here we are. After moving out and starting my environmental science major, I kept drawing, but had less and less time for elaborate digital stuff rather than pencil sketches. This (Rooted in the Sea, a challenge to myself based on a sketch between classes) was done over a year after the previous dragon painting, as a New Year's gift. Even though I still took art supplies with me regularly wherever I went, I really hadn't been prepared for how hard keeping art as a hobby while pursuing a science major would be. Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest chapter 29. This chapter was more dialogue driven than action but for the right reasons. We not only get explanation on how Juvia was able to escape due to Touka’s help without the White Mage part knowing, to why the White Mage wants to capture all 5 of the Dragon gods, to the only way to defeat Fairy Tail is by splitting up and knocking out the many members and protect the remaining 4 crystals that dwell within the Wood dragon gods body. I’m happy that Juvia gets to help out team Natsu and be part of the team for once. On a side note, it’s nice seeing Lucy tease Natsu about how Touka has a crush on him. This’ll be the first arc ever where it’s team Natsu vs Fairy Tail. Now the questions we need answered are, is there a way to seal away the White Mage for good and save Touka? Why does Touka have feelings for Natsu? Will Juvia join the journey with team Natsu now? And most important of all. How will they seal away the wood dragon god? Looking forward to chapter 30 and I give this chapter a nice 8/10.
You know what's quite a weird feeling? When it feels like in your adult(tm) artist life you're still trying to catch up to where you were as a teen. I did this painting, called Legend, in 2010, posted it on my Devianart at the time. I was 18, soon to finish school and was constantly making new stuff, elaborate digital pieces of 20-40 hours, challenging myself. I was proud of myself. It became the first in a major series that I became very fond of, the wood dragon series you've seen before if you follow me: it began here, with a digital painting over a mechanical pencil sketch in a sin school doodle notebook. (Cont'd:) I found myself coming back to the concept soon after, for some kind if concept art 'Colossus' competition on DA. I brought back the nameless cloaked humanoid for some sense of scale and had a lot of fun imagining how the dragon looked in detail and what its lifestyle was like. This piece was called Uprooted Ancient. (Cont'd.) 'Goodbye (until spring)': another painting with a very simple idea, done in October for an Octobery-themef contest. If a wood dragon is part tree, does it sleep in the winter? Bringing back the girl and gher dragon who were beginning to have their own story for a scene that's maybe a little melancholy, a bit bittersweet, but not truly sad. I'd moved to a beautiful new area with lots of nature and was feeling inspired. But I'd also just started uni and was having a lot of trouble adjusting to the changes and all the new demands on my time. In fact, the next real painting in this series wouldn't be made for over a year.
