these wool clogs were given to me by my grandmother and they have seen a long and hard life. the soles are coming unglued, the burgundy edge was removed by our puppy while we were sleeping (though I actually prefer it that way - thanks Edgar!), and on each shoe there is a hole from the bend in my foot when I kneel. the right one is half-darned, and I got some wool roving from a local farm this weekend so I can try to needle felt a patch for the hole in the left one.
soon it’ll be time to get some new ones, but when that day comes I still don’t think I can retire these old friends. I’ll just keep sewing ‘em up. they’ve seen many good walks and long weekends and I could never let them go.
