The elephants overlooking Woolwich Ferry are no more! Amazingly, a brave citizen confronted the the elephant thief and positively roared in outrage and indignation at the miscreant, who it has to be said was wearing a local council vest and drove a local council badged car. He ran away and left the small elephant but the big one got smashed. Heroic citizen Stuart Ellis didn't leave it there. He called the council to find out if they had sanctioned the removal of the elephants, and apparently they are aware of them but had NOT asked for them to be removed. So he was a thief in a council vest!
