But Jesus, I am just so bored. Accounts payable is the most bullshit position. I'm just the middleman, making sure that we have the invoices for someone else to pay them. After I count out the drawer in the morning and check out the activity from yesterday, I have to wait till the mail comes, then post invoices or checks or whatever. That's not enough to fill a nine hour day. Well, honestly, the woman I replaced did a seven hour day and it seemed like she spent a lot of it walking around and talking to people. But still, everyone else seems to keep busy for most of the day, dunno why I can't. There's talk of me doing more PR and stuff like that, but it hasn't come up yet. And doing a newsletter... four times a year. :p

I don't know, I guess I'm scared of staying in this position for the next twenty years like most of the folks here. I'm still looking but God, it's just so hard. I want a job where I feel useful and necessary, where I feel respected as an employee and as a woman, where I get paid a good amount and where I do good work (and have the work to keep me busy throughout the day). Really, I just want a job where I write and read all day. Or something with music all day. Ooh, or like in a museum where I can write and give tours and shit, I think that'd be fun. What does it say about me when my ideal jobs are like in libraries and museums?

I'm kind of thinking about grad school more seriously. Office life is seriously draining, and I feel like being a teacher would be the way out of that. College teaching though, not K-12. I want to be teaching somewhere where they really want to learn what I'm teaching. I'd teach creative writing or contemporary literature or a course on popular music or the Beatles or something. Couldn't you see me teaching a course on the Beatles, I'd kick ass. But I don't know... I seriously can't afford to accrue anymore debt. And I need to move out of my parents' house... And I don't think any student would take me seriously at my age. If I started grad school next fall, I'd be about 27 by the time I graduated. Well, idk, maybe 27 is old enough. I just need scholarships and grants and fellowships and shit. But how do I get anything like that, I'm not good enough at anything to get that.

In any case, I think I'd make a rad professor. I need some advice on this. Urgh.
