I’m a little confused about “public houses” and I was hoping you can better explain it to me ? So what makes Louis’ public house (the one El is supposedly staying at) a public house, and how do we know that it’s not where he actually lives? I don’t know how to actually ask this question. I just always see posts about public houses and don’t really get what it means? Like they buy a house just for fun 🤷🏼‍♀️

The term "public house" just means that it's a house that has been made public knowledge. So everyone knows about it, and it's the first thing you find when you Google 'Louis Tomlinson house' because there have been so many articles about it from the second he bought it in 2012.

It's not so much them buying a house 'just for fun'. It's an investment, and all wealthy people have several properties because it's a relatively safe and smart way to invest your money.

I've mentioned many times before that I think both Harry and Louis use their public houses as their "work residence". Essentially a place where they have meetings, interviews, and take promotional pictures/videos that are made available to the public. But they don't live there or stay there full time.

Do Louis and Harry have to buy and have separate public houses (in the media at least) to shade over the fact they live together? So for example they both either live privately in one of the houses or have a separate private house somewhere no one knows about ?

We don't know for sure. But what I think, and a lot of other people do too, is that they have another house they live in together, and nobody knows about it. They obviously spend time in their public houses, and I've had a working theory that those are kind of "work residences". So a place where they have a lot of their work stuff at, where they can do interviews, bring press people, post pictures, host friends/family, bring other industry people etc. And them "having to buy" houses isn't a burden. It's a positive thing for them. And it's normal for wealthy people to own several houses. It's an investment. So they may not live 100% full time in just one house, they have several.

Also important to note those are from the finished renovation back in 2014! So the house is probs a bit different now!

When you talk about public houses - like Louis’ that E takes pictures in and Erskine house - what exactly do you mean by that? Is that just a house the public knows about and they actually live somewhere else?

Yeah that’s pretty much what I mean. Especially with Erskine and Louis’ house in London. When they purchased those houses 1D’s PR team made sure that they were allover the press. There were articles about it with the address and pictures. To this day you can google the addresses. And to this day it’s publicly known “that’s where they live”. But what’s interesting is that when their addresses dropped and there was a whole fuss in the tabloids about their houses, Louis said in an interview that “nobody knows where we live”. He made a point to say that on camera, when publicly, he didn’t have a different house in London, just that one. But we’ve gotten enough throughout the years to know he likely doesn’t live there (See this, this, this and this).

I have a working theory that Louis’ public London house is actually the house Eleanor lives at. She may rent it, maybe he gave it to her, maybe he just lets her live there as part of her payment package - whatever. But I think it could be “her” house. To me it could make sense, since she’s the only one who is seemingly always there, but Louis is apparently there like 2x a year. 

If she doesn’t live there, then I suppose the house is like another “working residence” of theirs, much like Erskine. A house where they bring public friends, do work at, have meetings, interviews, photos, events, stay at when needed, let friends/family/employees stay at when needed, etc.

But I actually think that Harry and Louis live together in one of “Harry’s” Hampstead houses that are close to his Erskine house. And that’s why we sometimes see Eleanor in Hampstead with the dogs too. I say “Harry’s” in quotes bc it’s really Harry and Louis’ houses, but has only been reported as Harry’s own investment.

Do you think that maybe Erskine house could be where HL actually live when they are in London?

Cause based on the pictures from his family and stuff it does look like Harry lives there or at least has his family over and the house where L is supposed to live is just a public house where E takes the pictures and maybe they hold some meetings or music stuff there since it’s full of instruments and stuff

Idk I just think that Erskine seems to mean a lot to H while L’s house is more abandoned so maybe that’s where they live

I think I touched on this a bit throughout my posts about their houses. But I don’t think HL live in Erskine. At least not full time. I think they/Harry may stay there from time to time, but they do have another house in the same neighborhood where they live. We have this account of Louis receiving Christmas trees there every year.

Harry has also recently bought 2 neighboring houses on a private road around there that are currently being renovated and rejoined into one mansion. I say Harry, bc that’s what it was reported as, but I think it’s really Harry and Louis’ houses. It was reported he spent £15M GBP on those 2 houses, and it seems like they’re building it as a place to settle down in - with it being a large mansion - and that makes a lot more sense if it was a joint investment.

I think Erskine is like a fun house for them. Where they can have people over, do work stuff in, their families can stay there when they come to visit in London, etc. I mean it’s clear from the disco ball that the place was intended to be fun. There’s also a rumored pub downstairs, although that was not pictured in the architecture website, so maybe the pub is in Harry and Louis’ house nearby. That would make sense.

But overall I think Erskine is a place that is used for a purpose. Like Harry can hang out there, write music, stay there when he’s working and when he needs his team with him - like during promo season or when he needs to have lots of meetings or different people over for work reasons. I think it’s a work residence.

As for it meaning a lot to Harry, yeah I think it does. He seems to be a sentimental guy. He kept the old historical name of the house, and named his label after it. Makes sense that his label is named after a house that he does music related stuff in too. But we will never know the personal reasons why he finds it sentimental. Could be that he appreciates the history associated with the house so he named his label after that. We will never know otherwise unless he specifically says so.

In regards to Louis’ public house - yeah I really don’t think he lives there. And I have a working theory that Eleanor lives there or Louis lets her stay there. Because she’s the only one who seems to frequent that house. And Louis is there like 2x a year for promo videos or for public pictures.

Also there hasn’t been pics inside shared by his family or friends in YEARS. It’s clearly either completely shut down and private aka you can’t post pics from there if you know him or it’s not where he lives full time ya know.

Yes, I think the last time we got pictures from his house was Anne’s “icloud hack”, and those pics are from 2015 I think? Gemma used to post pictures to her IG, but she also stopped in 2015. The last one is the one of her and her friend on the couch. I don’t think we have any more pictures from the inside that aren’t those or the recently released architectural ones from 2014. The Vogue interview is the most recent telling of Erskine in the press, where they specifically point out the recognizable things about it (the couch, sex pistols poster) but don’t add pictures. 

So the renovations ended in February 2014, and we got pictures of it up until 2015. So just a year - the first year. And never again it seems. Unless it’s to specifically link to something already recognizable from it in the press/to the public.

So yeah, I agree with you anon. Another point about why Erskine is his work residence.

Other anon about the Erskine address being a business address. Thank you for the info. I won’t publish just in case, for privacy. But it makes even more sense that Erskine is his work residence then.

analyzing the pictures that came out of harry's kitchen and that picture olivia posted of the pickles, do you think it is the same kitchen? or now you are sure it is not

It looks to be the same, based on his leaf curtains and concrete island. But also, I’m pretty sure he wasn’t in London and that was just a photo op with the purpose of placing her at his place. When we already knew she was staying at her and Jason’s house that they own with her family. 

Erskine is his public house. The only house of his that we got to see the inside of. It’s the house he uses for his public life, so all the recognizable details can be linked to Harry Styles. It’s been that way since he got it and their PR team blasted the address all over the press. As I’ve said before, I think that’s his work residence.
