So does this mean that I no need to work? Yes. What if my employer get me to work? Under S. 19(2), Employment Act 1955, employer is required wage for work done on the gazetted public holiday shall be paid not later than the last day of the next wage period. And S. 60(3) underwritten the following conditions of payment if work is done in a gazetted holiday for: Employees paid in daily / hourly basis (Ref.: S. 60(3)(a)) < 1/2 of normal working hour: 1 of its ordinary daily rate > 1/2 of normal working hour: 2 of its ordinary daily rate Employees paid in monthly basis (Ref.: S. 60(3)(b)) < 1/2 of normal working hour: 1/2 of its ordinary daily rate > 1/2 of normal working hour: 1 of its ordinary daily rate Erm... I am not hourly, daily and monthly, so how? Don't worry. Your employer under S. 60(3)(c) of the Act needed to pay you not less than double of your hourly rate.
